The PhD Program Bioengineering –
Cell Therapies and Regenerative Medicine is funded by Fundação para a
Ciência e a Tecnologia, IP (FCT, IP). Each academic year, scholarships are
available for ten outstanding PhD candidates.
Under the terms set in the Statute
of the Scientific Research Fellow approved by Decree-Law 40/2004 of 18
August, in its present wording (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/estatutobolseiro.phtml.pt),
and the Regulations for Research Grants of FCT (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt),
the CTRM Directive Board opens a call for applications to ten scholarships
for the CTRM 2016/17 edition. The actual number of awarded scholarships may
be less, depending on the overall merit of the candidates.
The scholarships awarded under this
contract will be funded by the State Budget of the Portuguese Ministry of
Science, Technology and Higher Education and when appropriate, by funds from
the European Social Fund through the Operating Programmes in the period
2014-2020, of Portugal 2020, namely the Human Potential Operating Programme
in accordance with the provisions of “Regulamento Específico aplicável.”.
Students with other sources of funding may also be admitted to the PhD Program.
